Announcement of Photography Exhibition
We are pleased to announce that the Taishikan Guides Association Photo Book Team will be holding a photography exhibition for about a month, coinciding with next year’s “Mt. Fuji Day” on February 23rd.
Special Exhibition Commemorating Mt. Fuji Day: “FUGAKUZEROKEI”
Dates: February 20th – March 26th, 2026
Venue: Special Exhibition Hall, Okada Koyo Photography
Museum, Oshino Village, Yamanashi Prefecture
This exhibition will be based on the photo book "FUGAKUZEROKEI" and will also include recently taken photographs of Mt. Fuji climbing, captured since the book's publication.
"FUGAKUZEROKEI"
A photo book project initially conceptualized during the 2021 crowdfunding campaign, has come to fruition with the creation of a stunning piece titled "FUGAKUZEROKEI" (The view of Mt.Fuji from zero distance).
The collection features zero-distance shots of Mt. Fuji, skillfully captured by guides and lodge staff working on the mountain. The photos present a captivating glimpse into daily life on Mt. Fuji during the summer, presented in chronological order—capturing the essence of morning, noon, night, and dawn.
Through these visually immersive snapshots, viewers can virtually transport themselves to the majestic landscapes of Mt. Fuji. We hope this photo book serves as a gateway for discovering a renewed fascination with Mt. Fuji.
Exclusive to the Taishikan hut at the 8th station on the Yoshida route trailhead, this premium book is available only to those who have embarked on the climb.
The photo book is meticulously bound using Codex binding, preserving the integrity of the thread binding on the back. With a unique 180-degree spread, readers can leisurely savor the visual journey captured within its pages.
The title text is stamped in glossy foil, changing colors depending on the angle of view. This subtle interplay of hues mirrors Mt. Fuji's reddish soil, transforming with the shifting daylight—a nod to the mountain's ever-changing surface.
The book includes a special "FUGAKUZEROKEI" logo zip case, designed for versatility. Waterproof and mountain-ready, it bears the logo in the distinctive color of the Yoshida route, Yamanashi Prefecture's route. Not limited to mountain use, this case is equally suitable for everyday convenience.

It's been more than 15 years since I started guiding on Mt. Fuji, I have always thought that no matter where I cut off the mountain, it is always picturesque, and I have been climbing Mt. Fuji with my camera since 2017.
In this photo book, a few gems from the tens of thousands of photos I have taken are used, though only a small portion.
Of course, this is not enough to tell the story, but we hope you will feel the charm of climbing Mt. Fuji.

Her journey with Mt. Fuji began in 2014 during her student years when she worked in the kitchen of a mountain lodge. It was here that she first encountered the awe-inspiring views from Mt. Fuji, and since that time, she has been captivated by the scenic beauty that the mountain offers.
